Vancouver Mayor

December 1st, 2005
I attended the Yaletown Business and Resident Association Christmas Cocktail Party last night. They had a great turnout and I met lots of the local business owners and residents. I also had the pleasure of meeting our new Mayor Elect, Sam Sullivan. He was very easy to talk to and had a great sense of humour. We chatted about Yaletown being a great place to live and work. I said I was looking ...

RE/MAX Realtors

November 24th, 2005
I just got back from Kelowna where I spent two days in meetings with RE/MAX Realtors from across Western Canada. It was great to meet so many people as keen for real estate as I am. I learned a lot about the different markets including our close neighbours on Vancouver Island and The Sunshine Coast. If you or anybody you know needs a Realtor in a market other than Vancouver I would be happy ...

Housing Values in 2006

November 20th, 2005

According to The RE/MAX Housing Market Outlook 2006 the vast majority of major Canadian markets surveyed are expecting modest price appreciation ranging from two to five per cent in 2006. The only exceptions are Vancouver, Kelowna and Calgary, all of which are forecast to experience price increases in the area of 10 percent next year.

Great Software

November 15th, 2005

I recently downloaded a great program recommended by www.pacificit.ca. It's called www.browster.com and it allows you to look at a page without clicking on it and leaving the page you are in. Great to have a sneak peek to see if a site is worth clicking to. Saves a lot of time especially when you are doing searches and it's free. Check it out.

Demand For Housing

November 12th, 2005
Consumer demand for housing will remain strong next year. That was the verdict from Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation market experts who spoke at the CMHC Housing Outlook Conference in Vancouver last week. A robust provincial economy will provide the foundation for further job creation, rising wages and population growth, keeping housing sector activity high in 2006. However, rising mo ...

Christmas Shopping

November 12th, 2005
Well, it is official, at least in my world.... the Christmas season has started. I even caught myself singing a Christmas song yesterday. Last night I went to the Circle Craft Christmas Market which continues this weekend. Go online to get a $2 off coupon. Lots of great work, crafts and original art. I bought (what I consider) a trendy rain hat handmade here in Vancouver by Baroness Ashley. I ...
